Spectromancer Arcade Game Preview

Spectromancer is a game of magic and creatures.  Can you get through the 1st scenario?

This is a turn based game where you cast spells and summon powerful creatures to help defeat your enemy.  You use 5 magical elements during the battle.  Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and the special element which depends on your character class.  When you start the game you can choose between a Cleric, Mechanician, Necromancer, Chasomaster, Dominator, and Illusionist.  When the battle starts you begin with 60 life points.  As you are being attacked your life points will go down.  You have 5 numbers which represent your 5 magic elements.  These abilities affect the spells and the strength of each spell can cast.  For example if your fire power is 5 you can cast spells or summon fire creatures which cost is equal to or less than 5.  Each time you cast a spell or summon a creature your remaining strength is reduced by the cost of the spell or creature.  However, each turn all of your powers are increased by one.

 

Each creature has two stats: Attack strength and life number.  If the creature attacks an opposing creature, that defending creature’s life is reduced by the attack strength of your creature.  If the opposing creature’s life is reduced to zero that creature dies.  Each player has 6 creature slots which can hold summoned creatures.  If all the slots are full the player cannot summon anymore creatures, but can still cast spells.  Each turn ends after the players spell-casting and the creatures he controls attacks the enemy.  If the creature attacks an empty slot the attack injures the opponent directly.  If there is a creature in the slot defending that creature takes the brunt of the attack.

 

The object of the battle is to defeat your opponent by reducing his life points to zero.

Ok so let’s go play.  Select single player and campaign.  Pick a new game and your character type.  Then enter your name and start battle.  You move your creatures to one of the 6 slots in the game screen.  You will only be able to select the ones you have enough points for.  You can also click the get advice button at the bottom left of the screen.  I don’t really take it’s advice though.  I just go for it!

Ok so click your next opponent and start the battle.    Some of your creatures actually heal your player as well.  I like to get out some attacking creatures first.

Ok on to the next opponent, click and start battle.  This opponent didn’t have a chance, I love it.  I like increasing my elemental powers so I did that a few times.  But notice I was able to get some powerful creatures out there.  I also cast a healing spell on my player.  So just keep playing until you win the entire campaign.  They get harder so don’t think it will be that easy.  Make sure to submit your score too in the end.
